Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) public relations officer James Kalebwe was equally surprised by the huge turn up at the event. He said the league games usually have low turn out and therefore did not expect such crowd at the All Star event. Kalebwe said the event has been used to create awareness about Basketball and hope they will attract big crowds in league matches as well.

The two-day event comprised of competitions such as dunking, three point shoot out and All Star matches for both women and men. Players entertained the crowds with some of the finest basketball skills. The highlight of the event was the dunking competition where players displayed their stylish dunking moves reminding spectators of former National Basketball Association (NBA) stars like Dennis Rodman. Churchill Barrows won the dunking competition after he successfully completed his session. He also managed to win the three point shoot out.

In the women’s All star match the coaches team choice crashed the fans choice select team 59 - 29. In the men’s category, the coaches team walloped the Fans’ team 72-60. The event was sponsored by Slimeline Sports Wear company, Marked Men and Kosher Sessions.
