The message reads: “The father is drivin a white bakkie B 242 AOA and son B 503 AIV corolla its silver in colour”(sic).

We can reveal this week that this was wrong information from the spy boss. He had completely mismatched his intelligence and sent the alleged contract hitman a message that could have put innocent citizens in danger.

Mmegi investigations this week have established that the true owner of one of the vehicles mentioned by the spy boss has no relation to the Kalafatis. The owner is a female not a male referred to in the text message.

This week Hajira Wigget told Mmegi that she is the owner of the Toyota Corolla referred to in the text communication. She says she has been using the car since 2003 and has never had any contact with the Kalafatis or been involved in anything that would attract the attention of the DIS, let alone the spy boss. “I am a law abiding citizen,” she says.

She says perhaps her grown up son, who is light in complexion, may have been mistaken for John Kalafatis or his relatives, but says that apart from the skin complexion the two do not look alike. Wigget also disputes the facts in the text message.

“The father of my son died in the early 1990s so even if my son was mistakenly identified using the car or in the car, the truth is that his father is late,” she said.
