Pelekekae quit on Sunday, a day after the team drew 1-1 against Notwane at Maun Sports Complex. Pelekekae confirmed to Mmegi Sport that a lot of pushing and shoving for positions, he decided to step down.

He said he felt he has worked hard for the club since its days in the First Division until its recent promotion to the be MOBILE Premier League.

Pelekekae said it was unfortunate that some people at the club do not appreciate his efforts. He pointed things were not going to his plan.

The Kanye born administrator said his detractors argued that he was an outsider who had taken over their club.

He said this time he has decided to quit for good after making a u-turn in the past.  Pelekekae said there is speculation that three other committee members are on their way out.

Sankoyo spokesperson, Thato Molosi played down the resignation claiming that the committee has not received a resignation letter from Pelekekae.

He said he was not in a position to confirm or deny that the chairperson has quit.

When pressed further, Molosi said if the allegations are true, then it will be a blow to the club.

He is one the people who worked tirelessly for Sankoyo for a long time, even when things were tough,” Molosi said.

Molosi said when he spoke to Pelekekae about his resignation, he informed him that he was only thinking about it.

Sankoyo had a bright start to their debut season, before fizzling and are now placed 11th with eight points from as many matches.

The remaining committee members are Kebaabetswe Rase Samakata (vice chairman), Tina Tameti (secretary general), Goabaone Ntongwane (treasurer), Thuso Rammidi (additional member), Susan Monamisi (additional member) and Odirile Sibanda (team manager).
