The Botswana-based South African musician still displays touches of his old self, with a powerful vocal ability.

Having gained valuable experience over the years, Mazolwana matured from just being a vocalist to becoming a producer.

The new album talks of his experiences and interactions with his followers.

The album title is a township reference to a week of brokenness, demonstrating the hassles ordinary folks face, especially a week before payday.

There is also the track Isikoloto in which the musician comments on how some people avoid their creditors, only to be caught off-guard when least expect it.

“These two songs are linked in that during mampara week, people are dodgy.  This is what we see and live with and it is amazing sometimes to see how lack of money can determine the behaviour of some people,” Mazolwana said.

The new album was composed and produced by Mazolwana with Tando Zinto and Clifton Moalusi on the keyboard.

Mazolwana debuted with platinum selling Isiponono in 1998.

He also released other top sellers like Ntjilontjilo, Dudu, Accused No.1 and lately Black Empire, which featured the hit song Thuso Wa Lerala.

“I rate this new album at the same level as Accused No.1. I am speaking the same language as my fans.  You have to make them part of the music otherwise they would not relate,” he said.
