UDC cadre�s alleged killer bailed

Thabo Shete, a former Botho University student was granted bail by the Extension II Magistrate Abigal Maswawi last Friday. His lawyer, Bonolo Dinokopila has since recused himself from the case. The court on Friday learnt that Shete will now be represented by lawyer, Ruben Lekorwe.
Masawi ordered that Shete be bailed and appear again for another mention on November 3.
Shete was previously arrested and detained along with four others, who have since been released by police. On his last mention the police confirmed that Shete was linked to a murder case in which a woman’s body was discovered half-naked with fatal stab wounds on the neck.
Mmegi also learnt that Shete, along with four of his friends, allegedly waited for the deceased a few metres from the drinking hole the deceased had been at. They then followed the deceased to her home.
Shete reportedly confessed that as they approached the deceased’s home she refused to grant him entry saying there were elders in the yard. He also allegedly said that he stabbed her with a bottle, raping her when she was unconscious.
