The Big Brother Hotshots from Botswana Goitse Kgaswane and Sheillah Molelekwa, who are on the fifth day in the house, have not alienated themselves from other housemates.

When the show started on Sunday, Kgaswane introduced herself to the African audience through choreographed dance moves while Molelekwa serenaded the audience with her voice.  However, only time will tell how the housemates are holding up and if they have any survival strategies up their sleeves to elude evictions every Sunday evening.

Former Housemate Speaks:

O’Neal Zibanani Madumo

Although he pointed out that he has not watched this season’s Big Brother, former housemate stated that it is difficult for people to judge the housemates based on the first day of their stay in the house.

“The first few days are hard because housemates would be trying to find their way around the house. It’s hard because there is no structure in place and everyone is trying to find their way around,” he said.

A notable housemate in the history of Botswana’s representation in the house, O’Neal, raised the bar at last year’s The Chase.

He believes he was able to attain this by being true to himself and what he stood for.

He, however, said that although he cannot be sure what levels the current Batswana housemates reach, he is certain that whoever represents Botswana can actually win the show because everyone is capable.

In addition, O’Neal said that how one behaves in the house is linked to their goals because each housemate has their own objectives and reasons for going into the BBA House. He added that the mistake that people make is taking the show as a career choice.  Instead it should be used as a stepping-stone to one’s career. Furthermore, he said that the biggest mistake housemates make is that they are not true to themselves.  “Housemates waste time on trying to be nice. They give so much of themselves in the process of being nice that they omit to be who they are and the show is not structured around being nice. People are afraid of being hated,” he said. He stated that to date there is no one who has won Big Brother because they were nice.

Voting

Information on voting can be accessed at www.bigbrotherafrica2014.com.  All housemates are up for possible eviction this weekend except for Tanzanian, Laveda.  She wowed with her saxophone and scored a higher percentage when she entered the house.

This year one of the 26 housemates stands a chance to walk away with $300,000.  Big Brother airs 24/7 on DStv Channels 197 and 198, and will go on for 91 days until the winner is revealed.
