Speaking during the unveiling of seven double storey houses in Gaborone yesterday, BHC chief executive officer, Reginald Motswaiso, said they have engaged institutions such as commercial banks and events planning companies to help them disburse information on property investment, development and management.

The unveiled units boast four bedrooms and two en-suite bathrooms per unit.

Each unit is worth P2.2million.

Motswaiso noted that the houses are available to both individuals and institutions. “We operate on a first come, first served basis. If an institution requests to buy all the houses we will sell. But if an individual comes first we will assist them first,” he said.

BHC also presented a sponsorship cheque of P100,000 to Business, Exhibition and Events Planners Company, the organisers of the Property Expo.

“We find it fitting to partner with Property Expo for this year’s event. This expo offers a great opportunity to interact with Batswana and sensitise them about our product offerings and educate them on property investment,” Motswaiso said.

BHC marketing manager, Pinkie Tau, explained to Mmegi Business that several banks have come forward to make their efforts conducive and affordable. Although she did not disclose how many tenants they have signed for home ownership, Tau said many Batswana have shown interest in the initiative.

BHC has sealed partnerships with several banks to offer 100 percent mortgage loans, in a bid to help more Batswana buy property.  The one-year campaign service which ends in March next year, is available to anyone who has been renting BHC houses.
