Botswana celebrate its fashion sense

The ample crowd participated in the rare experience of  watching a fashion show that had a main road as its runway.  The show was held on the road running between the City Council and the Main Mall.

Dubbed ‘Botswana Jwa Me’, the fashion show  was massively attended and the local designers did not disappoint on the night either.

For most of the participating designers, this was no ordinary runway show.

The fashion show could give their careers a big boost, as the starting point of their career in fashion design.

In order to make a lasting impression, they had to do their best, and they did exactly that.

Designers played around with Leteisi (German print), and created breath-taking outfits for different occasions.

The night also featured a number of musicians.

First on the stage was the Ka Ching hitmaker Atlasaone Molemogi (ATI)whose performance was followed by radio DJ Sly’s.

After Andante choir serenaded the crowd, it was Nkhumo Tsae and other designers’ moment to shine.  The models paraded the ramp in beautiful locally designed gowns, receiving a lot of cheers from the attendees.

Also gracing the stage was Lizibo.  Clad in his trademark suits he had the women eating off the palm of his hands with Euri’s latest single Mosadi that he features in.

The designers who showcased their designs on the night were:  Nkhumo Tsae, Grace Sekoto, Onnetse Seakgosing, Lilian Morake, Lorato Mooki, Aobakwe Molosiwa, Lucia Magumba, Mami Molapo, Obonetse Dibeela, Mamike Rapoo, Kago Ditshego, Naomi felis, Alice Jonas, Gorata Bokopanele, and Onkemetse Moagi.
