Molefhis Goal Sinks Galaxy FC

Molefhi took advantage of a defensive blunder in the 82nd minute and found the back of the net. The two sides now have seven points each from the four matches they have played.

Santos gave the star studded Galaxy respect in the first half and only started playing well as the match progressed. They won a set piece in the 12th minute after Boitumelo Mafoko’s foul on Molefhi. Mpho Kgaswane failed to utilise the chance as his attempt went wide.

Santos pushed hard for goal and Molefhi failed to convert a pass from Kgaswane in to a goal as his attempt was saved by Anthony Gouws. The continuous attacks by Santos forced Galxy FC to defend too deep.

Santos’ Bosa Mokgweetsi started a move from the centre and released Molefhi whose attempt at goal went wide. Santos continued to pile pressure, creating several goal-scoring opportunities, but could not turn them into goals. Galaxy had their chance in the 35th minute, but Tshiamo Moreetsi ballooned the ball over the bar.

Kgwaswane caught Galaxy off guard and took a strike a few seconds at the commencement of the second stanza. Fortunately for Galaxy, Gouws was alert and managed to block the danger.

Santos introduced Teddy Natana and Galaxy made double substitutions introducing two midfielders, Tshepo Borake and Otsile Seanego.

Borake changed the complexion of the game with his speed on the right flank. He had a chance to put Galaxy in front in the 51st minute but missed the target.

Galaxy started to push forward in search of a goal and Olebogeng Malebye tried his luck in the 65th minute, but his attempt hit the woodwork.

Galaxy coach, Oris Radipotsane was not a happy man and complained about some of the decisions taken by the referee. He said the referee denied them a penalty and that the goal that was scored by Santos was an offside.

Despite that, Radipotsane said the loss will not dent their plan of doing well in the league. It was the first loss that Galaxy had suffered since beginning of the season.

Santos coach, Innocent Ranku commended his players for going all out and winning the match. He said Galaxy was putting them under pressure and created scoring chances.

“We managed to absorb the pressure. We had two shots at goal in the first half but we did not score.

We started piling pressure on Galaxy in the second half forcing them to make two changes,” said Ranku, He pointed out that First Division league is much tougher than Premier League because players are not given enough room to play.
