Kenosi is linked to a fatal accident that claimed the life of one person on Sunday morning. It is suspected that his vehicle hit a blue Mini Cooper causing it to overturn near Mokolodi Nature Reserve along Lobatse – Gaborone road. The alleged accident occurred at around 0520hrs.

“In the Mini Cooper there were three passengers, two men and one woman aged between 25 and 28 years old, two are currently fighting for their lives in hospital, whilst the other man died on the spot,” said Tshebo.

Tshebo further said that Kenosi was driving in company of an unidentified woman. He said that they received a tip off that Kenosi may be linked with the incident and arrested him a few hours after the incident. Tshebo refuted allegations that members of the Directorate of Intelligence Services (DIS) and uniformed police officers raided Kenosi’s house and confiscated his belongings.

“As far as I am concerned, we arrested a suspect in Block 9, we did not take anything except those that he had with him for safe-keeping. Investigations are still at the initial stage, “ he said.

He further told Mmegi that amongst others, Kenosi might face additional charges that include Failing to Report an Accident Within the Prescribed Limit, as well as Failing to Stop at an Accident.

Mmegi also caught up with Kenosi soon after he was released from the police holding cells, clad in brown pants, blue shirt and white flip flops.

“As far as I know, I had a tyre burst just as I was approaching Game City, later on in the day plain clothes officers that I believe to be DIS, and one uniformed officer came to my house,” said Kenosi.

“They took my CDs, memory sticks, and took me to the station, they did not tell me what I had done. They inquired about a dent I had in my car, which I explained that I had an accident, which is registered at the Gaborone West police station,” he said.

Kenosi will appear in court as soon as investigations are complete, the police said.
