The FNB Nswazi marathon has a 21.1km race which starts from Sebina poso to Makuta Kgotla and then the is the four kilometres race starting from Ntondola to Makuta Kgotla. The races start at 06: 30 am.  The marathons’ organising chairperson, Jacob Tshube told Mmegi Sport Amos and Makwala will attend the race to interact with the community and give motivational talk to young athletes.

Tshube explained that the athletes will not be taking part in the marathon because they are not long distance runners. Their presence is hoped will boost and promote athletics in the northern region, and give the community a chance to interact with the champions and discover how they made it to the international stage.  Tshube said FNB is the main sponsor of this year’s event. Winners for both the men and women’s 21.1 km race will each get P1800.

Last year’s champions in both the women and men’s events, Mema Tiango and Rapula Dipoko will try to defend their titles. Dipoko and Tiango won their previous races after clocking 1.5.49 hrs and 1.24 hrs respectively. There is a category for local villagers only in which the winners will receive P300.
