Although it is the norm to keep the identity of housemates a secret until the day they walk into the house, this year things have taken an interesting twist.

The names of housemates have been posted on the show’s Facebook page and website.

With only 10 days until the show’s launch, the page has been revealing housemates from different countries on a daily basis.

Twelve African countries will participate in this year’s edition, which is titled Hotshots.  The housemates include those from Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania and Botswana.

Botswana’s representative, Goitse Kgaswane, was revealed last Friday.

Part of Goitse’s biography on the site states that she entered Big Brother Hotshots for the adventure.

“People from different countries in Africa, all under one roof, no contact with the outside world in any way? Now that’s amazing!” she said.

In her quest for the prize, she will not pretend to be someone she is not and if she wins, she will use the money to open up a dance studio.

Big Brother Hotshots is set to start on Sunday (October 5, 2014 at 1900 CAT).

Initially the show was set to launch on September 7, but was postponed after a fire gutted the Sasani Studios in Highlands North Johannesburg where the show was to be hosted.

Last year, Zibanani ‘DJ O’neal’ Madumo and former beauty queen Motamma Sesinyi, represented Botswana as at the Big Brother Africa edition, dubbed The Chase.

At the moment viewers are being taken down memory lane with the airing of previous seasons of Big Brother on Channel 198.

This year the housemates stand a chance to walk away with $300,000.

The show that will be aired 24/7 on DStv channels 197 and 198 for 91 days will be hosted by Nigerian, IK Osakioduwa, for the fifth time in a row.
