Club officials were cagey when contacted for comment although chairperson, Fidelis Nkomazana confirmed they are handling an issue regarding the three players.

“We are attending to that issue. The club has an issue with the players, but it will be resolved,” Nkomazana said.

Asked if the players are available for selection, Nkomazana said the decision to play them lies with coach, Rahman Gumbo.

Gumbo however, refused to discuss the matter referring queries to the executive. Mmegi Sport can confirm that the three players are unavailable for tonight’s be MOBILE Premier League clash against red-hot BMC.

GU started the season on a losing note, but has since stitched together a five game unbeaten run, which sees them lie fifth, just two points off the pace. It would be interesting to see how they respond to news of instability as they prepare to face second placed BMC.

The latest development is likely to alert GU’s rivals who might swoop on the players during the January transfer window.

Mothatego and Sembowa reportedly had disciplinary issues in the past and the club was at some point, ready to listen to offers.

Despite their undoubted talent, the latest episode might signal the end of their marriage with GU. All the three players have failed to regain their spots in Peter Butler’s national team.
