Letlapeng challenge: Olebile has joined the new boys

Nthaga left the Ramotswa side last week after a string of poor results.

Olebile, a former assistant coach at BMC and Gunners, now takes charge of the be MOBILE Premier League debutants hoping to turn their fortunes around. Prior to last night’s game against former champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Letlapeng had only won one out of six games.  Letlapeng’s chairman, Sydney Magagane said they believe in Olebile due to his experience. “He is the right man to bring back the glory days to the Rocks. Nthaga was doing a good job, but unfortunately he left us, so we had to get a replacement soon.

Magagane said the new coach has been given a one-year deal and based on performance they will decide the way forward. His immediate task would be to ensure the team survives in its maiden Premier League appearance.

Magagane said while Olebile is new to the team, he is familiar with 16 of Letlapeng players he worked with while with other clubs as well as the national Under-20 side. He said this would make the coach’s job much easier.

Olebile’s first game in charge would be a baptism of fire against defending champions, Township Rollers on October 4.

Magagane believes despite the poor results, his team has played well only that they are not converting chances. “The team is playing well, we are creating so many chances, but the problem is we don’t convert. This will be resolved soon because we are working on getting two strikers,” Magagane said.
