All the contestants were people born in 1966 who consider themselves as Balekane ba Botswana (Peers to Botswana).

Though they are 48-years-old, the peers looked young and were full of joy and energy.  At their age Balekane ba Botswana brought life to the hall, and enjoyed every second on the ramp.

The couples were named after wild animals found in Botswana.  The other nine couples were Thutlwa, Tshepe, Thakadu, Tau, Nare, Nkwe, Dikwena, Tholo and Phuti.

The couple, Tiro Mothusi and Boikhutso Chawe, went home with P5,000 each after displaying talent and brilliance on stage.

Scooping the title was not easy as there were other beautiful and talented couples who were equally eager to win the title.

Second prize went to the couple, which assumed the name Phuti (Masego Segodi and Abel Sithayelo) who walked away with P3,500 each, while third prize went to Thutlwa couple, (Ruth Sechele and Mosimanewapula Kgosietsile) who each went home P1,500 richer.

The consolation prize for those who did not make it to the top three was P700 per person.  In the first parade, all contestants wore jeans and t-shirts.

The women went on stage first followed by their male partners each with his unique style.

The second parade was titled ‘the old school way’, where every couple was given an opportunity to impress the judges with a freestyle performance.  Each couple wore clothes that showcased different the nations of Batswana, Basotho, Baswati, Zulu, Indian and others.

DJ Tshepi kept the audience on its feet with old school music, showing the young ones how they used to groove in their time.
