Mothamme opened the score line with a brilliant header after a mistake by Boys defence in the 30th minute, while Isaac scored the second goal for Sharps in the 72nd minute. Boys got a consolation goal after being awarded a penalty that was well taken by Omphile Madala in the 76th minute.

Sharps have now bagged five points in three matches after two draws against Lesirane City FC and Modipane United. The game started on a slow pace with both sides playing with caution.

Bonolo Majoni took a set piece for Sharps a few meters from the box in the 15th minute. The attempt did not benefit the side as Boys goalkeeper, Mmoloki Sedimo made a save. Boys tried to catch Sharps with a counter attack and the defence was on alert to clear danger. The two sides were not showing urgency to score as the game progressed, misusing chances that they created. Boys’ players had nice exchanges starting from the middle of the park, but Richard Mushebe comfortably dealt with the last touch by Molebeledi Gabofiwe in the 23rd minute. Boys were on attack again through Galefetoge Kenaope and Mushebe denied him a goal in the 26th minute.

Kenaope had another chance to score in the 32nd minute, but  his attempt flew wild. The hosts had a chance to find the back of the net after a good move from the right flank but Sedimo was able to save the day. The second half started on a high note with Boys launching attacks against the opposition after introducing Gomolemo Ramaabya and Mpho Gaboitsiwe in the  48th minute.  Ramaabya’s  first touch of the ball  saw him dribbling from the middle of the park and taking a long-range shot that was blocked by Mushebe. Mothamme nearly grabbed a brace in the 60th minute, but  Sedimo blocked his attempt. Madala failed to utilise concentration lapse by Sharps defence in the 67th minute.

Mushembe showed a brilliant performance with double saves from Gaboitsiwe  late on .

As the match progressed, Sharps coach, Wilfred Mahaja was sent off  for descent.. Mahaja said he was happy that  his game plan bore fruit. He explained that the idea was to block Boys from playing their usual style.

Boys’ coach, Wire Kaelo said despite the loss, he was impressed with the performance of his charges. He mentioned that he wanted a win so that he can keep up with the log leaders.  “We did not play well in the first half and we only came back into the game in the second half. We need reinforcement at the back, as you have seen, we conceded easy goal,” said Kaelo.
