Madinda Ndlovu (Rollers coach): “We respect our neighbours Notwane. Although they have lost four of their first five league fixtures, we know they shall play like a wounded buffalo, but we shall not be in a charitable mood during the game. Our boys are training very hard and will treat this match as seriously as they did against log leaders Chiefs last week.” (source: Rollers’ website)

Fresh from their 1-0 victory over Mochudi Centre Chiefs, defending champions Township Rollers host Notwane at the National Stadium tonight.

The two sides are currently experiencing contrasting fortunes with Rollers on a roll, while Notwane have been on a slide. Notwane have tasted victory just once since the season started. Last Saturday, Notwane supporters watched helplessly as their team registered another loss, their fourth on the trot. This time they lost to Extension Gunners who had also struggled, until the past two games. They now face Rollers who are expected to ooze with confidence after beating log leaders, Centre Chiefs, last Saturday.

There is likely to be an interesting duel between Notwane defender, Kgomari Mothuba and Rollers’ striker, Jerome Louis.

The Namibian forward has so far scored four goals in five matches. Kgomari is known for his hard but timely tackles.

Rollers are without their first choice goalkeeper, Mwampule Masule, who is said to be nursing an injury. Michael Pepukani is expected to start ahead of Bobby Mathe. Notwane will rely on their skillful wingers, Lemogang Maswena and Emmanuel Machinya to try and shake Rollers’ defence, which has conceded only three goals so far.

In another game tonight, high riding BMC take on Motlakase Power Dynamos at Molepolole Sports Complex. BMC are yet to lose a match this season. The Lobatse team has proved they are one of the two stronger sides, when they thrashed BDF XI 4-0 last Sunday, to stand third in the log. Kenanao Kgetholetsile seemed to have regained his confidence after rejoining BMC from Rollers.

BR Highlanders take on wounded Chiefs tomorrow at the Molepolole Sports complex. Highlanders just like Notwane, have won only one game so far.

Chiefs will want to bounce back to its winning ways or risk losing the top spot. In other games, Extension Gunners take on Sankoyo Bush Bucks in Lobatse while BDF XI host Orapa United at SSKB Stadium. ECCO City Greens who are languishing at the bottom of the log lock horns with FC Satmos in Francistown. Nico United take on Gaborone United in Selebi-Phikwe. On Sunday, Police XI will battle it out with Letlapeng in Molepolole.
