The latest gaffe from the school was on Thursday when students had their supper after 10pm. Normal dinner, time at the college is 5.30 pm.

The students were not given an explanation from management as to what could caused the delay.

The students recently ambushed Masisi while he was visiting the college and gave him a litany of abuses they said management had subjected them to.

Among other things was that the school was overrun with mice and cockroaches.

The students also complained about their allowances, which they said were last deposited in June.  There was also a complaint of lack of accommodation and shortage of food.

At the time the school management promised to address the concerns raised by the students. The Student Representative Council ((SRC) president, Kesaobaka Ditshike said in an interview nothing had changed.

“As I speak now, nothing has been done as cockroaches and rats are still racing around the school, even clamouring all over our food,” Ditshike said.

He said the malfunctioning toilets, poor conditions of the ablutions blocks, cold bathing water and shortage of accommodation were still unattended to.

“Students are still forced to share three to a room which is supposed to accommodate only two.

“Some students are forced to stay off campus because there is no accommodation in the school.

“And we are still experiencing electrical faults in our rooms which really disturbs us when we want to study,” explained Ditshike.

The problems at the school may have been a source of worry for Ditshike and his fellow students, but he is more concerned with the fact that the school management has gone all quiet on them.

He said students had asked for a meeting with the College Principal, Quett Masesane so that he could update them on resolutions taken to address their queries.

However, Masesane gave them a cold shoulder when they made the request, he said.

Attempts to reach Masesane proved futile as we were referred to the regional public relations officer  (PRO) (Central) who had not responded to our questionnaire after a week.

Repeated calls to the PR office did not yield any fruit as the officer was reportedly on sick leave.
