BOKA president, Tshepo Bathai confirmed the suspension to Mmegi Sport yesterday.

While Bathai declined to reveal reasons for Dobolo’s suspension it has emerged that the issue is over development funds amounting to P24, 000.

Bathai said the association would release information once investigations are complete. He said they decided to suspend Dobolo as they do not want him to interfere with investigations, which have since started.

It is alleged that Dobolo took development funds intended for travel to Canada for a training course and instead used the money for his personal benefit.

The Canada trip did not materialise as the programme took place in South Africa.

But Dobolo said he has not received any communication from BOKA regarding his suspension.

He said he only learnt about the development from other people. He said the procedure is for BOKA to suspend the style not him as an individual if they have a case against him.

“I have just arrived from training in South Africa and I have all the receipts. If they want me to account, I will do that. I could not travel to Canada because it was expensive and we agreed to meet with the instructor in South Africa,” said Dobolo.

It is not the first time that Dobolo has faced censure. He was expelled by Ryushin Kan Karate Do Botswana despite being its founder and chief instructor in 2012. The expulsion was as a result of an instruction from Ryushin Kan Do Africa after failure to pay affiliation fees. Dobolo has since formed a new style Seiko- Kai Do Botswana.
