Magstimela swoop on Diphatsa quartet

Both clubs confirmed the transfer and the four have already made their debut for the Mahalapye side. Magstimela team manager, Maboka Molefe said the players are still finding their footing at the ambitious volleyball club. The players are Mothepa Nkonane (libero) and three inside attackers in Omphile Masole, Golebaone Sedimo and Lillian Boikanyo.

A delighted Molefe said they expect the signings to transform their side by adding the needed depth. He said his club nearly missed some of the league games when certain players had personal commitments.

“The coming in of the four players will go a long way in ensuring that we have at least two players in each position. Next season, we will be fighting for honours. It is my hope that we will be at the same level with the so called big guns in the league,” said Molefe. Magstimela fans hope the days of being the whipping side are gone.

Nlebesi Mphapo, the interim spokesperson for Diphatsa, said the quartet was given the green light to join other teams because the Francistown based outfit had no funds to bankroll the women team after Botswana Defense Force (BDF) pulled out.

He said the players were allowed to join Magstimela in order to give them the opportunity to continue with the game. The expectation is that the players might rejoin Diphatsa if their financial situation improves, he said.  Another Diphatsa player, Kitso Kgangeng has joined archrivals, BDF VI. Kgangeng joins former Diphatsa player, Chada Majaha who moved to the military side last season.
