GNT Officials Bay For Referee�s Blood

GNT head coach Edward Leposo and his technical bench accused referee (whose names could not be ascertained until press time) of costing their side victory following a 2-2 draw against cross town rivals in Amakhosi FC.
The annoyed GNT family insisted that a series of major and biased decisions went against them during their Debswana First Division North League encounter over the weekend.
Leposo, who cried like a baby after the match, claimed that Amakhosi’s first goal scored in the 55th minute through Eric Debuile was clearly offside, but the referee looked away.
The short tempered coach, who sprinted to the middleman soon after blowing the last whistle and broke into tears, added that the referee denied his side the three vital points to register his first win of the ongoing Debswana First Division North League.
This is after Amakhosi found the equalising second goal in the referee’s optional time after trailing 1-2 in the 67th minute when GNT’s Orapeleng Nchidzi scored with a scorcher.
Barulaganye Radiakanyo had opened the account for GNT six minutes into the game after his hard and low free kick deflected off Phineus Murinda’s leg and sent the Amakhosi goalie Kabelo Mutumba the wrong way.
“Both Amakhosi goals were not meant to stand. The first one was a clear offside but the referee decided to wave play on at our expense,” said an annoyed Leposo. He compared the referee’s performance to his display in GNT’s match against the same opponents last season.
“Last season, our player had broken a leg but the perpetrator was never punished. Today the same referee allowed a goal scored well after his optional time has long expired; that is also doubtful,” said the coach.
