But the Zimbabwean coach was still not amused because of comparisons drawn before the match.
“I am not competing with any coach; I am competing to win a league competition. The media say they want to see who is a better coach between me and Mike Sithole. The media wants to compare me with somebody, they want to see who is better between the two of us. They must understand we have different philosophies,” fumed Ndlovu after Saturday’s game.
He added: “I am not happy about that, if he is a good coach then that is ok. I do not have to compete with him. It’s not a league, we have not won a league (by beating Chiefs). He can go on and win the league because he has a good team. I can go on and win the league. I believe I have a good team. The media is putting things wrong, I am not fighting anybody.”
He said if the media believe he is not a good coach, they must go all out and disapprove his philosophy rather than compare him to another coach.
“Last time it was Rahman (Gumbo) and now it’s Sithole. I must be criticised for what I do wrong and praised for what I do right, but not to be leveled against any other coach. For now, every coach wants to beat me because for the past three seasons I have won and every game will be difficult for my team.”
Ndlovu is convinced there are better coaches out there who are not winning because they do not have the right material.
He is happy his team has gone 32 games unbeaten, but is cautious because of national team engagements and Champions League football.
“The season is still young, but we have maintained our unbeaten run. We are trying to gun for top spot before Christmas but there is the challenge of national team players going and Champions League as well,” he said.
He hopes to sign Jerome Ramatlhakwana to beef up his attack ahead of their Africa Safari dance.
