DIS implicated in BCP candidate attack

Motlaleng was kidnapped from his house in the wee hours and transported to some location where he was tortured and beaten. The kidnappers were allegedly armed. He has been admitted at Princess Marina hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
The Monitor is informed that the X-ray results show that Motlaleng was tortured using high voltage electricity.
Motlaleng was found by his neighbours near a trench in front of their home in Naledi. His cousin Jimmy Moseneke said that people called him alerting him that his cousin was dead. Moseneke was shocked to find Motlaleng naked with only socks covering his feet. He was found in a critical condition.
Moseneke said he was with his cousin until 2:30 am when they parted to sleep in separate rooms, in the same house.
“I wonder how they could have taken my cousin from the house. When I woke up around six in the morning, I heard people screaming, some shouting. At first I thought my neighbour who is a woman was under attack. To my surprise immediately when I tried to rush out, I found our sitting room door open and I believed that Motlaleng could have rushed out first, only to get the shock of my life,” Moseneke said.
He said it shows that his cousin was crawling on his belly, probably trying to get out of the trench and seek help, but he collapsed and was later found by people unconscious. He said his suspicion is that someone could have thrown him inside the trench after they thought he was dead.
Moseneke regained consciousness, after doctors gave him oxygen.
“My cousin did not sustain any wounds but it shows that he was under attack and that is why he was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit because he could not talk. The doctors wanted to check if he had internal bleeding or not,” he said.
He said on that night, Motlaleng had been complaining that there is a DIS man who had long been pretending to be a BCP member, only for them to later discover that he is a DIS agent. Naledi station commander, Superintendent King Tshebo confirmed that they are investigating the matter.
“I can confirm that Motlaleng was found in a trench. The case is still at its initial stages and we will only know what happened after interviewing the victim,” he said.
Motlaleng’s attorney Martin Dingake said the victim told him that he was taken to DIS offices by two men and a woman but could not reveal what they did to him.
