The government last week approved Malema’s visa application despite earlier suggestions it would not issue the document to the South African opposition politician.

Malema will attend the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) star rally in Molepolole North on Saturday, where he is expected to launch Borakalalo ward council candidate Arafat Khan.

“He is scheduled to arrive tomorrow (today) afternoon and address us around 12 noon,” Khan told Mmegi.

He is expected to hold a secretive meeting with Botswana National Front (BNF) leaders.

Meanwhile the officer commanding for Molepolole, senior superintendent Kevin Mookodi has said they will treat Malema like any other member of parliament who visits the country.

“We have not been told about his visit by UDC leaders but we will give him a normal escort which we always accord others,” Mookodi said.

Mookodi said he hoped the UDC leadership would communicate with them.

Malema is coming with EFF delegation compromising chief operation officer Magdeline Moonsmi, spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, advocate Dali Mpofu and MP Andile Mngxitan.
