Recently, Kgosana Jabavu Morema of Morema ward in Mochudi revealed that he learnt that the tribe is divided during his recent visit to Khama’s senior private secretary, Colonel George Tlhalerwa. “Ke eng o kare ga le mmogo? Ke a seba! Ke lemogile sengwe! Tautona o siame fela mathata ke lona Bakgatla,” said Morema during a recent Kgotla meeting. He requested that when Khama visits Mochudi he should find the tribe united.

Bakgatla are divided over the bogosi issue, especially the reinstatement of Sekai.

There are those who do not want Sekai to be reinstated while Kgafela’s loyalists want both to return to office. Morema said there is a third front he called lekoko that he accuses of going behind their back claiming to be uniting the tribe. He said that they informed Tlhalerwa that the lekoko cabal does not have the blessing of the tribe to negotiate on its behalf. He appealed to Khama to ignore the lekoko since it does not represent the interests of the tribe. In previous Kgotla meetings before his ban by the Minister of Home Affairs Peter Siele, Sekai warned of a certain group, which he said was dividing the tribe and doing things behind his back.
