The album, which was produced by LifAman, basically sums up the artist’s 2014 experiences in a highly metaphorical manner. The single is from his upcoming album, which will be released next year. The single is available for download for free. ATI was cagey with details when asked to explain what the single is about, citing fear that his utterances might attract legal repercussions. The controversy-ridden rapper’s woes started late last year when he had a falling out with his former manager Michelle Goafaono.

At the time, ATI claimed Goafano had changed their working relationship into an intimate one, and coerced him into sexual liaisons with her since she had financial power. This year, ATI has been in and out of court on kidnapping charges. He was accused of kidnapping a man he claimed had swindled him of gate takings amounting to P100, 000 from a show held in Serowe last year.

“I will not say much about this song because it may attract legal repercussions. People must listen closely,” ATI told Showbiz.

The song also touches on how everyone in life faces challenges and stepping stones, but the aim is always to overcome them and soldier on. He further said he will invest heavily on the video for the song that will be shot in South Africa. He gave a hint that the budget for the video that is earmarked for international music channels is over P60, 000.

“This is me trying to tap into the international water,” he said. ATI, an eight-time BOMU Awards nominee, has also been nominated for an award at the Yarona FM Music Awards. He clinched nominations in the Best Hip Hop and Motswako artist category alongside Zeus, Scar, KBos, Sasa Klaas and Drama Boi. He also contends in the Artist of the Year category, where he will face off with Vee, Zeus, Team Distant and MMP Family.

“It is such an honour and privilege for me to have been recognised through the nominations after all the hard work put into building my brand,” ATI said after the nominees’ announcement. He added that the nomination asserts great developments in his career, which come at a time when he’s been through several ups and downs. ATI clinched the Best Hip Hop Award at the 2012 BOMU Awards.

The young rapper burst onto the music scene four years ago and has made impressive strides in his career, and courted controversy in equal measure.
