Sethunya releases Life

Listening to the song one, would not think it is the singer’s first offering. Life offers a fusion of Jazz and Afro-soul beats teamed up with a rich voice.
Locally she could be compared with women like Helen Dikobe, Nnunu Ramogotsi and Kearoma Rantao who are all queens of song in their own right. For reference across the border she would then be linked to songbirds like Lira, Zonke, Lulu Dikana and Asanda Bam all of whom she has a common music element with.
She said Life was composed when she thought of the challenges and obstacles that people go through in life. She explained that through the song she wants to encourage and uplift whoever listens to her music no matter what they go through. Sethunya added that her aim is to make sure that she inspires people to rise above it all, achieve all they wanted to and live their dreams without limits, through her music people.
She pointed out that she looks up to artists who do live music. “The likes of Nnunu Ramogotsi and Shanti Lo give so much life to our music industry and those are the artists who inspire me. Across the border I am a crazy fan of Lira and Zonke,” she said.
Sethunya highlighted that she is content with the reception of her single. She revealed that there has been support coming her way from people including the Choppies CEO who showed interest in helping her pursue her music career. She said she has been receiving positive feedback, excitedly revealing that some people have expressed that they wish she had dropped an album instead of a single.
