Lukewarm start for Botswana bowlers at AST

Halfway through the competition, Botswana men had collected two points in the singles by yesterday and occupied fifth spot. Swaziland is leading the pack with six points, same as Kenya which is in second spot due to an inferior scores difference. South Africa and Namibia have four points each.

Zimbabwe, like Botswana has two points while Zambia is pointless.

In the women category, Botswana fours team has two points and lie fourth with Namibia leading with eight. South Africa is second with six points. Zimbabwe, in third position has four. Zambia also has two but trail on score’s difference while Swaziland has no point.

South Africa is leading the men’s trips with 10 points, followed by Zimbabwe with nine and Kenya with seven. Botswana is tied on six points with Swaziland. Namibia and Malawi have two points each while Zambia is winless.

Namibia is currently enjoying the lead in the men’s pairs with 10 points followed by South Africa with seven. Zimbabwe is in third spot  with six points while Botswana and Kenya have collected four points each. Swaziland is at the bottom with two points.

The women pairs and triples and the men’s fours and singles start today.

Meanwhile, Selebi-Phikwe bowler, Khumo Kebalatetse has made his national team debut at the tournament started, which started on Sunday. Botswana umpire, Baven Balendra told Mmegi Sport that Kebalatetse was picked after his brilliant performance this year. Kebalatetse is in the men’s trips and fours team. The competition ends on Saturday.
