Serufho who was seconded to Botswana Africa Youth Games Organising Committee (BAYGOC) as chief executive officer, resumed duty at BNOC on September 1.

He said that although he has returned to BNOC, BAYGOC is still running to clear outstanding issues like auditing, compilation of reports and payment of supplies.  Serufho said the majority of BAYGOC employees have been released with only a few from the finance and human resources departments still in office. He said auditing and compilation of reports is almost complete.

BAYGOC had said it will wind operations by the end of August. Serufho explained that the August date was an internal deadline to ensure they complete operations but not necessarily the submission of reports and the auditing. He said they have not face any delays in winding BAYGOC  operations and have up to November to complete the whole process.

BAYGOC has to submit reports about the Youth Games, which Botswana hosted in May, to the Africa National Olympic Committee (ANOCA). “We are not in a rush to finish the work. We are taking our time so that we do everything in order and accordingly,” Serufho said. He said since the Africa Youth Games are a huge event, it takes time to complete all the paperwork.
