Speaking at the launch of the party’s parliamentary candidate Reverend Benny Stegling on Sunday in Moshupa, BCP leaders noted that villagers were forced to seek medical attention from neighbouring Thamaga and Kanye.

The BCP Women’s League president Tebogo Dingake said Masisi has neglected the people of Moshupa, as such he should be punished for that at the October 24 general elections.

“Reverend Stegling is the right candidate to represent the aspirations of this constituency,” said Dingake, adding that the BCP candidate would advocate for the hospital and the right personnel if elected. Another speaker, Phagenyane Phage described Stegling as a God-fearing politician and not a sycophant. The Mmopane/Lentsweletau parliamentary aspirant said political representation should be free from the sycophancy that Masisi is well known for.

Phage also asked the constituents to be vigilant saying the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) is working around the clock to rig elections. He alleged that the BDP has trafficked voters from as far away as Mathangwane to come and vote in Moshupa/Manyana. He also urged the BCP supporters to be vigilant of the BDP’s necromantic tactics because it was possible that the party has registered dead people to vote next month.

For his part, Stegling said Moshupa deserved the hospital and “there is no two ways about it”. He decried that Masisi has dragged the good name of Bakgatla-ba-ga-Manaana in the mud by his utterance of being sycophant. He said he has accepted the challenge to fight for the freedom of his people from the misrule of the BDP.

The party president Dumelang Saleshando told the well-attended rally that the BCP is ready to lead. Saleshando said the end of BDP is nigh and people have to be prepared for that. He accused the ruling party of failing to bring developments to the people. “It is time to vote for a new government,” said Saleshando.
