Gaseitsewe’s launch on Saturday attracted both the young and the old  of the village.

The constituency is commonly known as a Botswana National Front (BNF) stronghold. Gaseitsewe is related to Bangwetse royal who formed the BNF.  UDC painted the area yellow as supporters donned T-shirts written in Sengwaketse Tje Nako. Many people were shouting,” it is time to reclaim the constituency”

The event, which was well organised, started as if it was a  jazz festival as Banjo Mosele entertained the crowd. Banjo kept the supporters and the crowd on their toes as he sang Ntsha e jele Ntsanyana.

Other musicians who made the crowd crazy include Psycho Kings, party choirs and different groups from the village. Each speaker was given three minutes except the UDC president who was given 30 minutes to address the crowd.

Gaseitsiwe pleaded with the Kanye constituency to bring the constituency back to the UDC.

The UDC president Duma Boko also reminded them that Bangweketse have stood with BNF during hard times even in the party and now is time to ensure that its representative goes to parliament.

He said BNF belongs to Bangwaketse chieftainship therefore they should campaign for their party. “Lo itse party ya lona botoka , a seka ya nyelediwa ke ope,” Boko stressed.
