BTCL sponsors Capacity Africa

Under the theme ‘Uniting decision makers in the African Fixed-line and Mobile Wholesale World’, BTCL will be presenting on the topic, ‘Assessing the Development of Cross-Border and last mile Infrastructure Network’. This is a subject that the BTCL general manager wholesale, Mokgethi Nyatseng, said is favourable for Botswana.

He said the location of BTCL, which is at the heart of Southern Africa with neighbouring countries as Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Namibia, offers it a unique advantage as a participant. “We have interconnections and good relations with multiple service providers in the region making us a trusted partner for both provisioning of services to neighbouring countries and a transit partner for transit product and services” said Mokgethi.

The BTCL wholesale has to date successfully offered products such as transit IPLCs, voice interconnections, data connectivity, MPLS, co-location, infrastructure sharing and IP transit. The Division also provides wholesale products and services to mobile operators, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), regional service providers and international service providers.
