The Dolphins skipper had a nightmare visit to Angola in February when he attended trials with Atletico Sportif Avecio, a professional league side. He was detained for days because the club had not processed his visa.

Avecio indicated they want to have a second look at the Dolphins star and recommended he put on more weight.

A deal with Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN) for nutritional supplement has come in handy for the assertive ace and he believes he will meet the requirement. “Individually, I am prepared. You can never be 100 percent prepared but I am closer to it than last time. This time, it is two clubs I am going to Avecio and another one called Lusiada,” he said.

The agent arranging the trial, Fernando Muhongo told Mmegi Sport the club expected the player in Luanda on September 30.

“I am working on that as we speak, he will have to come here on September 30. I am actually scheduled to meet the club’s coach and discuss a few things regarding his coming here,” he said.

Muhongo stated that the Angola League is presently on a break and resumes next month.

The club will have a look at Barrows during their final pre-season preparations and the agent said negotiations are likely to start thereafter.

The 22-year-old had previously had a stint outside the country when he featured for Harare side, Cameo in Zimbabwe.

The Dolphins shooting guard has three senior national team caps, having also turned out for the BISA Under-17 national team thrice. He has played for the national Under-20 team.
