The event, hosted at Botswanacraft, was held in the open arena under the evening skies and stars.

For such a laid back evening, the setting and atmosphere of the whole place attracted poetry lovers who had gathered to listen to wordsmiths as they poured out their hearts and souls with words. Despite the punchlines and everything in between from the poets, traditional dance group Mafitlhakgosi stole the show.

The talented and energetic group from Old Naledi left no stone unturned as they performed to the best of their abilities. From doing the Hosana dance, whose origins are in Kalanga rituals that serve to ask ancestors for rain; to doing the famous Phathisi.  The group showed their versatility as they did each piece with the same level of passion and commitment. On stage, the group had their members imitating performers by Dramaboi, A.T.I and Vee to perfection. Upon completing their presentation, Mafitlhakgosi got a well-deserved standing ovation that sent them off the stage in high spirits.

The poetry gave upcoming and already established poets an opportunity to showcase their talent. Upcoming poets came in the form of Letlhogonolo Moremi and Boleng Atmos Bolokwe, who each had their own pieces that bore their souls out. There were seasoned poets as well that included TJ Dema and Mandisa Mabuthoe who backed up the guitar sounds of Japhala Gwangwa.
