Rollers Rout Hapless Highlanders

Rollers dominated proceedings from the onset, launching numerous attacks against a hapless Highlanders side that struggled to click for the entire clash.

The visitors were already two goals up in 15 minutes when attacking midfielder Kobamelo Kebaikanye struck twice in the ninth and 15th minutes.  Left back, Otlantshekela Mooketsi added in the 21st minute before Namibian forward Jerome Louis scored the fourth with 44 minutes on the clock. Louis made it 5-0 in first half optional time to complete his brace. He tapped in a cross from the right which gave the goalkeeper no chance.

In the first half, Highlanders seldom went into the visitor’s half in a match in which Rollers goalkeeper, Mwampule Masule had little to do.

The only time he was called to action was when he dealt with back passes.

For Rollers, the match was like a training session.

At the hour mark, Motsholetsi Sikele made it 6-0 for Popa after beating substitute goalkeeper Kabo Ntswaneng.

Manqoba Ngwenya found the net with header to complete a miserable day for Highlanders in the 75th minute.

Another Rollers’ substitute, Thato Bolweleng failed to make it 8-0 when he directed a header wide when scoring appeared the easier option.

Apart from a few enterprising touches in the second half, Highlanders had little to offer and rarely troubled Rollers. Most of Highlanders moves were easily thwarted by Maano Ditshupo and Lawrence Majawa in midfield and defence manned by the towering Obuile Oscar Ncenqa.

The win takes Rollers to second spot with eight points ahead of BMC and Police XI because of superior goal difference after four matches.

Rollers are four points behind leaders Mochudi Centre Chiefs who are unbeaten.
