Lutheran church rekindles 60�s love

“The aim of the event is to revive the essence of good old-fashioned love by celebrating the social and cultural trends of the 1960s with a climatic red carpet fashion parade and photo shoot”, a statememnt reads in part. 

The programme, which will start at 2.30pm and end at 10pm, includes performances by Benny Sekgwa, Phongo Ristas as well as poets. The evening will feature dinner, a raffle draw as well as dancing and entertainment while the Reverend Ada Mereyabone will address the audience.The Botswana National Museum premises was chosen as the venue for the event due to  its work as a heritage preservation institution.

In support of the event, Itumeleng Botlhoko (Chairperson) and members of the Friends of the Museum Society will organise some activities geared towards educating and celebrating the heritage of Botswana. The Friends of the Museum Society is a non-governmental organisation established in 1980 made up of volunteers. The organisation assists in the development and promotion of Botswana’s cultural and natural heritage through different projects and programmes. Its initiatives include digitally recording the narratives of Botswana’s social evolution into products which can be used to educate and promote Botswana diverse heritage to local and international audiences.
