Phenyo Butale: A heavenly sent angel

Just as these political scarecrows thought they had slipped away from the tight grip of the UDC then rose the most elegant, vibrant and heavenly sent Phenyo Butale. It is indeed true that, like Gomolemo Motswaledi, Moses led the children of Israel from Egypt and he defeated Pharaoh in his quest to lead them through to the Promised Land, it was so unfortunate that he never reached Canaan. But out of nowhere emerged Joshua whom God anointed and gave him a mission to take over where Moses had left. Indeed it so happened that Joshua carried them through and the Israelites reached Canaan.

It is also true that comrade Gomolemo Motswaledi has left us just as we were about to cross the Jordan river to go to Canaan, just when people were about to lose hope on whether we will get to Canaan or not, just when a lot of people had gone numb and their minds frozen, just when the whole nation didn’t know where to turn to or where to look, just as Botswana had all gone dark. Like a heavenly sent angel, he rose and re-instilled all of that lost hope and trust, he rose to show us direction and to lead us to the Promised Land, oh! How the nation is so fortunate to have found a son in Phenyo Butale.

To the Promised Land we will reach only if we believe, because in comrade Phenyo Butale I believe and hence I believe to the Promised Land we will touch down. He rose to rescue Batswana from the unmerciful and most cruel hands of Khama and his agents, he rose to free the people of Botswana from the tyranny of this regime. And hence I say to you comrade, “don’t be afraid” for in us UDC youth you have our full support, we will rally behind you so as we eliminate and get done with our Pharaoh for we love our country so much.

Indeed we had a good and great leader in Gomolemo Motswaledi but we as Batswana should understand and come to terms with the fact that he is gone and we will never find anyone who matches him or at least anyone like him. Comrade Phenyo Butale is a warrior in his own way, he is a soldier made to fight for the relief of his countrymen in his own way, in his own way he is a great man and we believe in him. For one to think that comrade Phenyo Butale’s politics and leadership skills will resemble that of Sir G will be rather myopic and that on its own will mark him/her as reluctant to think they are two different characters and or tools made to liberate Batswana in their own way as per given by the father himself. What you can only expect is a match of their leadership DNA as they are both sons of the UDC.

Though left with such a short amount of time before the national elections, go out there and fight comrade for it is never too late. We too will be on the sidelines to offer a helping hand by any means possible for this is our battle together. So, I call for the spirit of camaraderie in moving forward. Comrade Phenyo Butale you have rescued the whole nation from the devilish Domkrag, you have even rescued them Domkrag’s from their own hands. Forward with comrade Phenyo Butale, forward!
