The inaugural winner, Judith Kgwadi, will crown her successor. Kgwadi represented Botswana in the International Miss Teen Universe pageant in Nicaragua, Central America in February this year, where she was crowned second princess. Next year’s finals will be held in Guatemala in February.

One of the organisers, Wandipa Gachala, said they are prepared for the event. She expressed confidence that they will build on last year’s success.

Gachala said their mandate is to groom young women who are dedicated to making a difference in our country, by portraying themselves as ambassadors and upholding strong cultural and ethical values within the society.

The pageant organisers hosted a successful charity event earlier in the year. The charity event was aimed at contributing to Batlang Support Group, which has established an Orphan Care Programme to assist vulnerable children.

The pageant organisers recognised the need to offer a helping hand, in line with the Vision 2016 pillar of a just, caring and compassionate nation.
