Modimakwane has said the media in Botswana wants to finish Kgafela and that is it reporting negatively about the Bakgatla leader. He was complaining over media reports of a High Court decision in a case between Kgafela and his royal uncle Nyalala Pilane. “Where is it written in the judgement that Kgafela has lost a case against Nyalala? The judgement that you used is totally different from the one we have here. Yours was issued by Botswana government not South Africa,” he fumed.

He said that they will continue to support Kgafela, no matter what happens and that “the journalists who are busy spreading negativity about Kgafela will reap what they sowed”.

“If you were writing from this side, we could have long dragged you to the courts,” he threatened. He said that the media in Botswana is conniving with the government to finish Kgafela and support Pilane. “What I can assure the Botswana media is that we will get Nyalala, no matter whether you are supporting him and spreading negativity about KgosiKgolo.  We will get him,” he vowed.  Modimakwane said that they are waiting for all Kgafela’s cases to be settled before they deal with all journalists who have been reporting what he called falsehoods about the fugitive Bakgatla paramount chief.

“We will drag you from Botswana to respond to all the articles that you have been writing,” he swore. He said they are filing all the articles written about Kgafela by Botswana journalists.
