Rollers were reported to have signed the Zebras front man, but club secretary, Khumo Masonya could neither confirm nor deny the deal.

“I have no comment regarding Jerome. We have an interest but I think the issue was handled late. I am not the one dealing with that issue,” Masonya told Mmegi Sport. Earlier, the club’s spokesperson, Phemperetlhe Pheto had referred questions to Masonya saying he was the one dealing with the matter.

Chiefs’ spokesperson, Clifford Mogomotsi said the player has joined Rollers with their blessing.

“JJ has gone to Rollers with our blessing. Remember when he left, we signed replacements, so it was only fitting that he goes to a club where he will get game time,” Mogomotsi said.

Ramatlhakwana left Chiefs last season to join DRC club, Don Bosco. Although the player signed a three-year deal, it was a torturous stay in the mineral rich country, which saw him terminate his contract.

Ramatlhakwana had joined the club together with Phenyo ‘Mzambia’ Mongala and Dirang Moloi.

Mongala and Moloi left DRC earlier than him, citing poor working conditions and a breach of contract.

If Ramatlhakwana signs for Rollers, he will fight for a place with big Namibian, Jerome Louis who settled well last season.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are making attempts to sign Mongala for the coming season and await FIFA’s decision on the matter.

“We are trying to have Phenyo in our squad. It is now up to FIFA to greenlight the move since the transfer is happening outside the transfer window. Dirang did not sign the contract that was offered. So he won’t be part of the squad,” Mogomotsi said.

Mongala, a former University of Pretoria and Orlando Pirates player, is training with the log leaders.

Chiefs have started the season well and are unbeaten after three matches, sitting at the top of the log with a two point advantage over second placed BMC.
