Boy, who is proving to be a wise off-season buy from Miscellaneous, settled a tight contest when he lashed a left footed effort from distance to beat a retreating Takudzwa Ndoro hands down.

The 1-0 result gave Rollers their first win of the season after two consecutive draws. Early pace-setters, Chiefs were once again ruthless, thumping Notwane 3-1 to open a two point lead after former joint leaders, Sankoyo Bush Bucks stumbled.

Mike Sithole’s charges have made a solid start with three wins from as many matches and judging by early form, Chiefs are leading contenders for the title. New signing, Senatla Molefe is enjoying his time at Chiefs and Bonolo Fraizer appears rejuvenated with the duo assisting their team to nine goals since the campaign started. The pieces in the top half jigsaw puzzle have an unfamiliar look as BMC and Police XI occupy second and third positions respectively.

Police XI were responsible for Sankoyo’s first defeat of the season when they went to the Maun cauldron and won 2-1.

BMC, 2-1 victors over Orapa United climbed to second spot, replacing Sankoyo who have now dropped to fourth.

Rollers moved to fifth, although their display in Molepolole proved they are yet to hit top gear. Madinda Ndlovu’s side escaped some nervy moments as BDF XI sought parity. The soldiers have started poorly, and have now lost two matches on the trot, both against potential title winners.

In Selebi-Phikwe, Nico United got the better of cross-town rivals, Satmos, winning 1-0. Ronald Chikomo retrieved what had appeared a lost cause for Gaborone United when he nodded home late for a 2-1 win over a resilient Letlapeng.

After a resolute display against Rollers last weekend, Extension Gunners find themselves back in familiar territory as they occupy 14th position after a 2-1 loss to BR Highlanders.

Financially troubled ECCO City Greens are rooted at the bottom, still battling to register their first point of the season after they fell 3-2 to Motlakase Power Dynamos. Orapa United, who had a dream start last season are finding the going tough and occupy the other relegation spot.

Meanwhile, the league passed its third weekend without a sponsor. Speculation has been rife that a new sponsor will be announced soon with the parties involved in the search giving no details.
