De Beers invites bids

Any diamond businesses interested in applying for supply from the start of the new contractual period will need a key individual from their group to register. In a statement, De Beers said that applicant businesses that are not currently sightholders will also need to submit an auditor workbook for approval by De Beers as part of the submissions process that will follow the registrations of interest.

Paul Rowley, the executive vice president of De Beers global sightholder sales, said, “We believe that we have a compelling rough diamond supply proposition at De Beers and we very much look forward to receiving applications for our new global sightholder sales contractual period.

Global consumer demand for diamonds is stronger than ever and is forecast to continue showing real positive growth in the years ahead. With this period of opportunity on the horizon, we anticipate strong demand for our rough diamond availability over the coming years.”
