Bowls step-up preparations with Mafikeng select friendly

Botswana Bowling Association (BBA) vice chairperson, John Gaborutwe said this weekend’s friendlies will start with singles and fours for both men and women. The pairs and trips will follow thereafter.
Lebogang Mascarenhas and Timothy Morton will represent the country in the singles. Mascarenhas will partner with Pauline Lekone in the pairs category. Morton and Kitso Robert will play in the men’s pairs while Obopile Ashby, Bonnie Fox and Tirelo Buckley are in the women’s triples team.
The men’s triples team has Oabona Motladiile (skip), Dicks Senna (second) and Khumo Kebalatetse (lead). The women’s fours team is made up of Ashby (skip), Fox (third), Buckley (second) and Lekone who will play as a lead.
The men’s fours team has Motladiile (skip), Senna (third), Robert (second) and Kebalatetse (lead). The men are under the tutelage of Clifton Richardson while Jane Mitchell is the women coach.
Gaborutwe said the AST will be held from September 6-13. The team that will represent Botswana in the AST would be announced after the weekend friendly. The AST is held every year on a rotational basis among African states.
