Galaxy spokesperson, Kealeboga Ramogobya said the deal with Platinum Stars has motivated his players as they stand a good chance of moving to the Rustenburg based side. He said Stars’ chief executive officer recently visited Galaxy were they shared ideas. Ramogobya said the club was invited to the recent match Platinum played against Kaizer Chiefs and afterwards, the players held a training session together. He said plans are underway for Galaxy and Stars to play a friendly match.

“We are also in the process of getting the same brand of kit (Acelli) that is used by Stars.” Galaxy has been on a recruitment drive ahead of the new season. The club has acquired the services of notable players like Boitumelo Mafoko, Mmusa Ohilwe, Toy Moroka and Bobo Motlhabani. There are also players on trial from a South African First Division side, Obit.

“The five players have been on trial, but we only want three. We expected the technical team to give us names of the players that have caught their eyes yesterday,” said Ramogobya. He said the move is meant to beef up the squad as it targets promotion to the Premier League next season.

Ramogobya explained that they decided to combine Comets and Blue Diamonds in order to improve the standard of football in Jwaneng. He said it would be much easier to sell one instead of many clubs to sponsors.

“Football is a big industry that needs lot of money. The business community in Jwaneng will now focus on Galaxy,” he said.

Ramogobya stated that they would be unveiling their new logo, colours and kits on Friday next week. He said preparations for the new season have been going well as evidenced by performance during pre-season training matches.
