KRFA banks on new boss to change fortunes

After elected at the regional general assembly, former KRFA committee additional member, Letter Rantabe hailed Ramatlhape and said the former KRFA secretary general’s love for football is well known.

“His experience in football will be valuable to our association and the region. We will indeed exploit his position and make sure we succeed in improving our football in Kgatleng,” said Rantabe.

Ramatlhape has held crucial roles in the association and played an important part in sport development.

“He coached and later managed Dikwididi Wanderers before he took another step higher to become the KRFA’s Second Division League chairman,” Rantabe said.

He said Ramatlhape ran the Second Division well before resigning to become KRFA secretary general.

“As the secretary general, Ramatlhape did his work and impressed the affiliates with his up to date reports. He communicated well,” Rantabe said.

Oodi Real Hearts FC official, Abel Morongwa also spoke glowingly about Ramatlape. “I have worked with Phakedi before. He is humble, intelligent, respectful and transparent,” Morongwa said.

He wants to see the new committee’s energy transform into meaningful development and attract sponsors to the game.

Ramatlhape said he was happy to have been elected to the top post. “I want to assure them that I and my committee members will not disappoint them,” he promised.

Ramatlhape said he will focus on attracting sponsors but there is need to improve the product first.

“Our former chairman, Olefile Ramaabya had already laid the foundation for us, so we are going to work with him to continue developing our youth through sport,” he said.
