The fun event attracted scores of employees, families and friends who were treated to a variety of entertaining activities including board games, jumping castles and quad-bikes.

Adding flavor to the day was local football star, Dipsey Selolwane’s daughter, Rotlhe Rutang. Clad in her father’s football jersey the young girl entertained the crowd with a song dedicated to her father.

Eight-year-old Rutang first sampled the song, A Dedication For You Daddy, at Selolwane’s testimony match when he retired from football recently. Joining Rutang on stage was Team Distant who just recently released a single titled Irongo. The group also performed their singles Oni Korota and Kavengoma. Other performers on the day included Ricky Lamar, Kosher session’s DJ FAUZ, and House junkies amongst.

Showtime caught up with Dorcus Maeba, who said that she appreciates YFM’s gesture. She said such events should be encouraged because there is less alcohol binging, and more of family bonding.

“I really like such events, YFM did very good job because here there is less alcohol drinking but more of friends and families having a fun day out and getting to know each other better,” she said.

Meanwhile, YFM recently announced they would be hosting what is going to be an annual event dubbed Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAs). The station manager, David Moepeng, said that the awards are meant to show Yarona FM’s support for the development and growth of a vibrant and commercially viable music industry. The YAMAs are scheduled for November 22 at the Gaborone International Convection Centre (GICC) as part of the station’s 15th Anniversary celebrations.
