Notwane, Metropolitan in funeral policy deal

Notwane chairperson, Arnold Somolekae said the partnership will help revive the club’s branches across the country.

He said every week their supporters travel to watch games and in the process risk being involved in road accidents hence the decision to come up with a funeral policy.

Notwane lost former coach Banks Panene after he was involved in a car accident on his way from Francistown in 2007.

The membership cards are in three forms; silver, gold and platinum. Those with silver cards will pay P51.60 and the total payout during a funeral will be P10, 000. Those carrying gold cards part ways with P62.40 and the total payout for the funeral will be P15, 000. The platinum card carrying members will have a funeral payout of P20, 000 and will pay P73.20 monthly. Somolokae said they will not only focus on those who are already supporters, but will intensify their recruitment drive to attract other people.

Metropolitan Botswana corporate business manager, Masego Mokgolodi said there are no medical requirements for one to join the policy.

She said their plan is to make this a lifetime partnership, but it will be reviewed annually. “Our job is centred around these kinds of relationships. We are relationship builders and we extend it to the public at large,” she said. She added that their relationship with Notwane is based on trust, learning and transparency.

“We hope that these partnerships will be beneficial to both Notwane and Metropolitan. I can assure you that none of the two parties have a hidden agenda,” mother body chairperson (Notwane club)  Batshani Ndaba said.

Meanwhile, Dlala is the new team’s technical sponsor.
