The transfer window closes on August 22 and Keotsene has advised players to follow proper channels to avoid disputes.

Keotsene explained that players should write to their teams of their intention to leave and that the BVF should be copied.

Keotsene said most players leave their teams without following procedure.

“Copying the letter to BVF helps in instances where conflicts arise between the player and the team the player wants to leave,” Keotsene said.

He added that the federation usually addresses players on the transfer procedure as they realise that most are unaware of the proper channels.

He however said this has not helped as they continue to record disputes over transfers. The second round of the league is expected to kick off on August 23 and end in November.

Keotsene would not say whether they have started fresh negotiations with sponsors, Mascom, but asserted that an announcement will be made when the time is right.

The Mascom sponsorship deal ends in November.
