Legitix steals the show at dance battle competition

The four member crew was pitted as the underdogs in the competition, since it was their inaugral participation in the event. They were up against experienced dance crews Massive legends, The lab and Prototypes. The crew did not hesitate to go face to face with their male counterparts who displayed a lot of krump moves, while Legitix displayed a variety of dance moves and coordination in their set.

Legitix’s aecrobatic dance moves drove the crowd wild especially when they did MC Hammer inspired break-dance moves, finishing their performance set in style. The crew who endeared themselves to the judges, walked away with a trophy, medals and a P1,500 cash prize.

Competition organiser Selby Muir stated that it was refreshing to see young girls win the dance battle especially as they were the only female crew and it was their first time to participate.

Legitix crew leader Michelle Msami could not hide her excitement. She shared that her crew members were initially nervous about participating in the dance battle when they discovered that their counterparts were all experienced males.   “I had a group chat with them before we started dancing.

I motivated and reminded them that it was important for us to have fun,” she said. Legitix dance crew is comprised of of Msami, Elang Monang, Warona Nzala and Martina Mupfeki.
