Ongadile introduces a gospel album with a unique twist

While most gospel singers, concentrate more on singing worship and praise songs, Ongadile, said he decided to experiment with something different. He explained that instead of singing, he decided to spread the word of God through the use of instrumentals and preaching. Ongadile’s preaching however is not necessarily the conventional preaching we would expect to hear in church. His preaching looks at issues affecting modern society. His song titled Chelete, looks at issues like money, and all the evil deeds some people entangle in, because of their love of money. The lyrics address different life scenarios like a situation where a woman gets married to a man who does everything for her, but later discovers other men who have more money than her husband. She then starts cheating with these men and ignores her husband.

Some of the words from one song goes “…Re lebetse modimo, chelete e fetogile modingwana.mosadi ke wena monna yoo o go tsere o sokolo o sotlega…o ne a go tsaya monna yo a seka a go felela pelo, a go ithatswetse…gone yana o lebetse monna yoo bakeng la chelate, o fetogile sera sa gagwe, o tsamaya mo o mmua leswe le ditsala tsa gaga... o tabogile le ba di Range Rover Sport…” The song also addresses the issue of a man who leaves his wife at home, buys prostitutes and entices young girls (ma 14) with money. Ongadile’s preaching tries to discourage people from allowing money to control their lives and force them to do immoral and evil things. 

The young man from Marobela pleads with individuals not to allow Satan to develop within them evil ideas of raking in money. The other song titled Tumelo is primarily words of encouragement, where he inspires not to lose faith and rather entrust in the Lord Almighty. In the song, Ongadile reminds Christians that they will meet challenges in life, explaining that there is no problem which is too big for God.  

The young man’s musical style is not surprising as he is an upcoming motivational speaker. Ongadile started giving motivational talks during senior secondary school. “I was a member of the Anti-Corruption Club at Naledi Senior Secondary School, and that is when I started giving motivational talks,” he said. The bug bit him and he is now working on establishing himself as a motivational speaker.
